Barbie Tatum's soulful voice instantly captures audiences. Her expert ear for harmony allows her to easily adapt to all genres of music & produce hit songs! She trained professionally at the Hart School of Music in Hartford, CT, at Wheaton College in Norton, MA, and with NYC based vocal coach Tina Shafer.

At Wheaton, she met fellow musician, singer, and guitar player, Zach Hurd. They formed the duo “Causeway” – originally named “Stop 186” for the NJ transit bus they rode to NYC to perform in their earliest days. “Causeway” achieved industry attention and success after the two graduated in 2003. They were pursued by artist management, booking agencies, and record labels. They toured the country via the NACA college circuit and were sponsored by Independence Air. They opened for artists – Gavin DeGraw, Tyler Hilton, and Amos Lee. They released two full length albums “Parallel Lines” in 2004 and “Endless Summer” in 2006.

They parted ways in 2007, but that didn’t stop Barbie from her pursuit of ongoing musical collaboration. In 2006, she began working as a singer for NJ based Hip-Hop artist “Hyphen One” and joined his 8-piece hip-hop/fusion band “Daylow.” Simultaneously, she developed another duo “Ruby & Jerry” with Berklee School of Music’s Gerald Bohrer – a talented and accomplished NJ based jazz guitar player. Barbie toured the Northeast and MidAtlantic festival circuit with “Hyphen One and Daylow” and traveled to St Barths to perform a residency at the famed “Baz Bar” with “Ruby and Jerry.”

From 2008 through 2015, Barbie lent her voice to recording projects with various artists and producers to include: Big Ben Hillman the Professor of Funk; L.T. Brown; and Hyphen-One.

More recently, Barbie teamed up with close family friend and singer-songwriter Nick Depuy. She is featured on his new 2017 album - “Don’t Be Sorry.” On that album Barbie and Nick co-wrote a song called “For Generations." October of 2018 Barbie and Nick released "Keepers of the Night"... in November of 2018 Barbie and Nick released "Dragonfly" and  then in December they released "All Your Christmas Wishes" & "Love Zone." Stay tuned for more new releases...!
